And in an explosive interview with Corriere dello Sport, Villas-Boas didn’t hold back on his time in north London where he also revealed he turned down an offer from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his first season at Spurs.Villas-Boas said:“The first season was magnificent in all aspects. Maybe that was a mistake.”The former Chelsea boss went on to criticise the Spurs board, headed by chairman Daniel Levy for their responses to his transfer requests.He said: “In April, we started planning for the next season. I offered some names to buy and sell,but during the transfer window, the board didnt listen and quickly destroyed everything wed created.”Not a lot has appeared to change at the club since with Spurs becoming the first Premier League team to not make a single summer signing during the last transfer window. The delay of their new stadium also adds to their dramas in what has been a turbulent season off the pitch.Villas-Boas, 41, reportedly turned down the Fulham job – a role that was given to Claudio Ranieri after the Cottagers sacked Slavisa Jokanovic.Villas-Boas’ last job saw him manage Shanghai SIPG from November 2016 to November 2017.
